8 dead after charter plane crash in western Alaska

All eight people aboard a charter plane have died after it crashed in western Alaska on Thursday, according to the U.S. military. The crash happened at Cape Newenham Long Range Radar Site Airport, approximately 450 miles (725 km) west of Anchorage.

Officials noted that the plane had taken off from Anchorage. Two pilots and six passengers were on board.
