Amazon Smile is an amazon initiative where they donate .5% of sales to charity. I don’t know what percent of amazon customers use smile or how many times they do, but I’m going to do a rough estimate here based on past quantifiable data
The amazon smile foundation donated about $37.2M in 2018 projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/display_990/462626883/09_2019_prefixes_45-46%2F462626883_201812_990PF_2019091716657143
In 2018 Amazon’s online retail sales was about $123B www.statista.com/statistics/672747/amazons-consolidated-net-revenue-by-segment/
So the smile donations to sales revenue ratio is about 0.0003%
In August 2020, after Amazon’s Q2 it says on their website they have donated through smile about $198M web.archive.org/web/20200826234741/https://smile.amazon.com/gp/chpf/homepage?orig=%2F
Now if you go to their site it says they have donated so far $215M smile.amazon.com/gp/chpf/homepage?orig=%2F
So 215 – 198 = $17M in smile donations the past month or so.
Now if we take the ratio I calculated before hand,
17M/.0003 = $56.7B in online sales revenue
In Q2 2020 (last quarter) Amazon’s online sales revenue was $45.6B. We still have over a month left till Q3, and I estimate that Amazon has already surpassed their revenue from Q2 (at least in the retail side).
