As you already know, IWB was banned from Google’s ad server last year and lost access to 60%+ of ad markets. This impact is very painful. Since then, the site has been on the verge of shutting down.
Censorship is on steroids; not only social media suppresses contents from independent and conservative media, but also Google will remove the site from its search engine.
The window for survival is narrowing by the day if we continue to rely on ad revenue to fund the site. We believe this also happens to other similar sites.
We tried affiliate ads but don’t have much experience, and the results are not looking good. Popup ads annoy some readers. We have removed them.
The censorship issue isn’t getting better after Elon bought Twitter because governments are pressuring them to do it. This is the darkest period for free speech in America.
We expect things to deteriorate from here and will eventually lose almost all the revenue from ads.
With 100 donors who make a $10$ donation a month, we can meet the short-term funding goal to survive. If we can get 700 donors, we can remove all the ads and become totally independent. Beholden to no political party. No advertisers; no outsiders; no sugar daddies; no corporate string pullers.
IWB has 15k visitors a day; we will reach our goal if only 5% of them make donations monthly.
