While most of us save soup for the cooler months—and summer in the South does not qualify—if you or someone you know eats soup all year round, you should pay attention to this. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has just announced a recall of 184,200 cans of lentil soup.
The recalled item is Amy’s 14.5-oz. Organic Lentil Soup, Light in Sodium with a best-before date of April 2027. The product’s lot number is 60D0924, and its UPC is 042272005833. The soup in question was made by Amy’s Kitchen and sold across 28 states, including many in the South. The soup is being voluntarily recalled due to “potential for spoilage”, per an enforcement report from the FDA.
