Maui local knocks out Democratic candidate with one punch after gun and knife threats on beach

Kirill Basin is a Democratic congressional candidate for Hawaii’s 2nd District. On a Maui beach he got into a fight after someone asked him to turn down loud music. Police say he threatened to shoot a man’s wife and pulled a knife. A local bystander punched him once and knocked him out cold. The bystander recovered the knife from the ocean. Basin faces two first-degree terroristic threatening charges with $1 million bail. He has prior arrests and restraining orders since May. Video confirms the knockout.
