Los Angeles Democrats are offering people $600 if they agree to not use their car for 5 weeks and instead use the LA Metro

Participants will be tracked with an app to make sure they only use public transit, walk, bike or carpool
“$600 just to try out its system but here’s the catch: you have to agree to leave home at least one household car for 5 weeks. During that time, the only ways to get around town are by using Metro Transit, bike share, carpooling with a friend, or walking. Metro will track your progress using the GoCarma app”
Participants must use the GoCarma smartphone app, which tracks travel behavior and odometer readings. It tracks automatic trip and odometer logging. Some verification also involves odometer photos
Taxpayers will pay for this with a $2 million dollars grant
