Karl Rove announces he will vote Democrat in fiery rebuke of GOP: ‘I’ll have no part of it’
Veteran GOP strategist Karl Rove on Wednesday published a scorching condemnation of the Republican Party, announcing in a Wall Street Journal editorial that he will vote Democratic in the Texas Railroad Commission race over “bigoted” Republican candidate Bo French.
“These people are diminishing the Republican Party, not building it,” Rove wrote. “I’ll have no part of it. This November, I’ll vote for only the second Democrat in my life. The first was Lt. Gov. Bob Bullock in 1994, because I thought he would work with Republicans.”
He continued, “The second will be Mr. French’s opponent, Jon Rosenthal.”
President Donald Trumplost it earlier this week after hearing rumblings about this decision, calling Rove a “stone cold loser” with “Trump Derangement Syndrome” for not backing French — who has made a series of racist, sexist, antisemitic and Islamophobic comments.
