YOUR RESUME IS TELLING EMPLOYERS WAY TOO MUCH!

Your resume may be the reason you’re not getting interviews — and one of the biggest mistakes job seekers make is giving employers way too much information.
In this video, I’m roasting real resumes and showing you the resume red flags, ATS mistakes, formatting problems, useless skills, unnecessary sections and personal information that can quietly hurt your chances of getting a callback.

We’re covering everything from freelancing and side hustles to overlapping jobs, hobbies and interests, references, soft-skill buzzwords, technical skills, professional summaries, ATS formatting, tables, years of experience, graduation dates, age, metrics, bullet points and how much work history you should actually include.
Because the goal of a resume isn’t to tell an employer everything about your life.
It’s to get the interview.

Some of the biggest problems in these resumes include:
Current freelance work that can make you appear over-employed.
Overlapping employment dates that immediately raise questions.
Hobbies and interests that have nothing to do with the job.
References being provided before anyone even asks for them.

Generic skills like “communication,” “deadline management” and “attention to detail.”
Technical skills that are actually entire job functions instead of specific software, tools, workflows or methodologies.

ATS-unfriendly tables and formatting.
Professional summaries stuffed with buzzwords.
Listing “10+ years” or graduation dates that unnecessarily reveal age.
Two-page resumes that could easily fit on one page.
Job bullets that describe responsibilities without explaining the result.
And resumes that bury the actual software, systems and certifications employers want to see.

Your resume needs to quickly communicate what you do, how you do it and what happened because of your work.

Employers may only spend a few seconds deciding whether to keep reading, so everything on the page needs a reason to be there.
