Florida signed the law in 2024. It bars children under 14 from creating their own accounts on platforms with addictive features and requires parental permission for 14- and 15-year-olds. A federal judge issued a preliminary injunction in 2025. On October 14 a unanimous three-judge panel of the 11th Circuit vacated the injunction. The court said the law is content-neutral and likely survives intermediate scrutiny because it targets addictive design features rather than speech itself.
