Pope Leo XIV led the Angelus from a window overlooking St. Peter’s Square on Sunday, his first public appearance since surgery. Doctors removed the lower lobe of his right lung on October 13 after tests confirmed adenocarcinoma. He was discharged from Gemelli Hospital on Saturday after four days. He told the crowd he would gradually resume his activities. The Vatican has not yet released details on the size of the tumor or whether it had spread to lymph nodes.
