British counterterrorism officers arrested a 24 year old British man and a 25 year old British-Iranian man today under the National Security Act on suspicion of assisting Iranian state intelligence. Investigators confirmed the arrests are tied to a planned attack targeting the Royal Air Force base at Fairford.
The arrests stem from a September 27 counterterrorism operation where law enforcement intercepted three suspicious vans near the airfield perimeter, taking five men into custody and recovering surveillance equipment directed at U.S. and British military assets.
