President Trump today urged Vivek Ramaswamy to keep airing a $4 million ad that features Democratic Ohio gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton’s estranged mother calling her a liar. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, who endorsed Ramaswamy, called the ad “deeply, deeply troubling” and said it was wrong given the backstory of childhood abuse and neglect that led to Acton’s removal from the home at age 12 after her stepfather was indicted. The ad began circulating earlier this week. Acton has said she has had no contact with her mother for decades. Trump called the ad powerful and accused DeWine of disloyalty to the party.
