Experts say that the people buried here are the original Native Americans, ancient Europeans who migrated during the last ice age. They were found in a very well-preserved state, such that brain-matter was still intact leading to DNA proof of their origin. This burial site is of particular importance because the only other known examples of submerged, off-shore burial sites are located in Denmark and Israel. Remarkable find!!
