I went self-employed in Jan last year.
I don’t get any subsidy.
Health insruance was $360/month for the cheapest plan. $8k deductible, $8k max out-of-pocket
This year, same coverage, $450/month (a 25% increase)
Next year, worse coverage ($8k deductible, $12k max out-of-pocket) for $530/month (a 18% increase).
Since 2025 going into 2027 health insurance is 47% more expensive for worse coverage, they’re lying about inflation.
I don’t even go to the doctor b/c I have to pay the frist $8k out of pocket before they’ll pay a dime… that’s after already paying $450 a month!
I see why people don’t have insurance and just pay cash and pray something big doesn’t happen.
This isn’t health insurance, it’s financial insurance against cancer / big operations.
