How Amazon’s HQ2 scam screwed the entire country. They always knew were they were going; the “bidding war” was an excuse to scrape cities’ data

The rabid bidding war among American cities to be the location for Amazon’s new “headquarters” was essentially a scam. Bezos always knew where Amazon was going: right next door to his buddies at the Pentagon, with another location in New York.

What about all those other 236 cities? Where did their efforts get them? Well, as part of their bids, they handed over important non-public data about plans, transportation, workforce development, etc., to Amazon for free. Going forward, Amazon will likely utilize this data as a form of “insider information.”
