Post-Post Snowden, this idea continues to circulate that apple cares about protecting user privacy more than competing device manufacturers, to the point where it’s been ingrained in me personally. I even inadvertently repeated some platitude about apple’s security emphasis fairly recently. This video creator peels back the layers on this formless cultural belief, showing how apple executives carefully dance around the issue with careful semantics, ultimately fabricating a mythology of privacy out of whole cloth.
