High school kids started blocking schools in late September over missing teachers and rundown buildings. On some days more than 1,000 schools got hit. Cops arrested thousands of people, mostly minors, and hundreds of kids, teachers and officers got hurt. A few schools burned or got wrecked. The Interior Ministry counted 256,000 people on October 6 and 161,500 on October 13, while unions said one day almost reached 480,000.

October 17 is supposed to bring those students together with some old Yellow Vest people, climate groups, VTC drivers and one farmers union over diesel prices near €2.35. A map shows over 1,000 actions planned. Police figure around 20,000 to 40,000 in Paris and about 150,000 elsewhere. Paris cops banned Bastille, the Champs-Elysees, Concorde and spots near the Elysee and Matignon. The routes go from Republique toward Clichy or Nation. Macron told people to stay calm, but cops still expect trouble.
