KFC said Monday that it will test plant-based chicken in partnership with Beyond Meat Inc. BYND, +1.22% starting August 27. Beyond Fried Chicken will launch in Atlanta, available as nuggets served with dipping sauce and as boneless wings served with either Nashville Hot, Buffalo or Honey BBQ sauce. Complimentary samples will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Those who want to purchase can choose from a nugget combo meal, served with a side and drink, or four-piece à la carte plate, or boneless wings in a six- or 12-piece plate. Feedback from the Atlanta test will play a role in whether there will be more tests or a potential national roll out. KFC, a Yum Brands Inc.
