Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant early Monday in the Washington area. DOJ spokesperson said the action is part of an ongoing federal investigation. Fox News, citing sources, reported the focus is a criminal fraud probe into immigration paperwork filled out by Omar’s late father when she was a child. In mid-September border czar Tom Homan confirmed on Fox that there was an ongoing criminal investigation involving Omar and that HSI was looking at longstanding allegations. Omar said at the time that DHS had not contacted her and called the claims right-wing attacks. No charges have been announced.
