British Colonialism Seems to Trigger Europeans And I Don’t Know Why

by Chris Black

Something that seems to annoy some Britons and also to a lesser extent, people of European descent in general, is critiques of colonialism. I myself am a critic of Britain’s colonial past, so let me make my points on this clear:

  1. I believe that despite Britain taking resources and wealth from nations that were colonized, Britain gave far more than it took in terms of infrastructure, health care, teaching, housing, sanitation, the ending of slavery and other civilizational advancements.
  2. Despite Britain’s gifts to the world, the long-term effects of colonialism were negative for both the countries that were colonized and for Britain and the average British man or woman.
  3. Colonialism was bad for the colonies because the people in those countries were not ready for the advancements they were gifted. Giving the tools of an advanced civilization to people who were often still hunting with spears and living in tribes was highly misguided. As such, the lasting effects of colonialism on the colonies are overpopulation, famine, war and corruption.
  4. Colonialism was bad for Britain because it granted rights to those from the colonies to come and settle in Britain, this has helped to speed the demographic replacement of indigenous Britons.
  5. The wealth gained from the colonies rarely enriched the lives of normal Britons, in fact it was concentrated in the hands of large companies and individuals who were already extremely wealthy. These people and their companies regularly used their increased wealth to buy political and social influence, often to the detriment of ordinary Britons.

My conclusion is that British colonialism, whilst clearly giving more to the world than it took, actually ended up being detrimental to both those in the colonies and to White Britons.

For Britain itself, the net result of the country’s colonial past is primarily a vast increase in mass immigration and a sweeping demographic change that threatens the very existence of the indigenous people of the British Isles.
