California officials have known about the flawed emergency spillway design for 12 years or more. But decided they didn’t want to spend the money. Much better to spend the money on illegals and protecting snail darters.
Three environmental groups — the Friends of the River, the Sierra Club and the South Yuba Citizens League — filed a motion with the federal government on Oct. 17, 2005, as part of Oroville Dam’s relicensing process, urging federal officials to require that the dam’s emergency spillway be armored with concrete, rather than remain as an earthen hillside.
The groups filed the motion with FERC, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. They said that the dam, built and owned by the state of California, and finished in 1968, did not meet modern safety standards because in the event of extreme rain and flooding, fast-rising water would overwhelm the main concrete spillway, then flow down the emergency spillway, and that could cause heavy erosion that would create flooding for communities downstream, but also could cause a failure, known as “loss of crest control.”

And yet all the idiots on twitter from California are blaming President Trump because they have not heard from him yet.
“as thousands evacuate ahead of the oroville dam failure — mr. trump — where the bloody fuck are you?”
“Trump races to fix #OrovilleDam …..Crickets !”
“If the #OrovilleDam had been on SNL this weekend, @POTUS @realDonaldTrump would have something to say about it.”
But wait. It’s the Republicans fault. The dam was built before Democrats were reliably in control of the govt.
Tweet:
“Oroville dam was constructed decades ago, when CA was not a reliable Dem state.”

Being a Leftist means never having to admit it is your fault.
While California is worried about spending their tax dollars to feed, house, and protect Illegals, the tallest dam in the state is on the verge of collapse. Priorities Liberals!

California spent all its money on sanctuary cities rather than maintaining its dams.

You need to EVACUATE RIGHT NOW, the Emergency Spillway are beginning to collapse, you have just hours to evacuate.
Take your identification and gold/silver/ cash/ valuables / firearms. You will not be allowed back to your homes after the disaster. What you leave behind in your home consider it as gone forever. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE.
See maps of time you have to escape. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-02…
LIVE WATER HEIGHT REPORTS http://cdec.water.ca.gov/cgi-progs/qu…
The Democratic Party currently holds super majorities in both chambers of the California Legislature. The state senate currently consists of 26 Democrats and 14 Republicans, and the Assembly consists of 52 Democrats and 28 Republicans. Except for the period from 1995 to 1996, the Assembly has been in Democratic hands since the 1970 election (even while the governor’s office has gone back and forth between Republicans and Democrats). The Senate has been in Democratic hands continuously since 1970.

Did the Democrats ever send a bill to Schwarzenegger for repair of the emergency spillway? No. Right the opposite and here is an example of Schwarzenegger complaining about it:
To the Members of the California State Assembly:
I am returning Assembly Bill 1176 without my signature.
For some time now I have lamented the fact that major issues are overlooked while many unnecessary bills come to me for consideration. Water reform, prison reform, and healthcare are major issues my Administration has brought to the table, but the Legislature just kicks the can down the alley.
Yet another legislative year has come and gone without the major reforms Californians overwhelmingly deserve. In light of this, and after careful consideration, I believe it is
unnecessary to sign this measure at this time.
Sincerely,
Arnold Schwarzenegger
