Governor DeSantis has previously indicated he would sign such a bill into law if one were to come across his desk which would allow any citizen of the state of Florida over the age of 21 who was eligible to carry a firearm possess a firearm on their person without any sort of permit thus nullifying the current conceal carry permit system .

This bill has broad support in Florida however there are some detractors such as Orange county Sheriff who has previously said he would vehemently oppose such a bill .

Not only would HB 103 clear law abiding citizens of Florida to conceal carry without a permit it would also allow for lawful Open carry as well .

In current Florida statutes relating to open carry one must be going to or coming from the activities of hunting , sport shooting at a public range or other appropriate lawful venue or fishing and be carrying paraphernalia relating to such activities .
