Dear Celebrities: No One Cares What You Think

We adulate celebrities so much, it’s no wonder they’re under the impression that we care about their political opinions. The truth is, we don’t. In this video, Candace Owens, Director of Urban Development for Turning Point USA, lets unaware celebs in on the reality: no one cares what they think.

  1. Ever notice how many awards they give each other? We’re supposed to look all starry eyed at women who are half naked and still complain about the “harrassed” by men and still go back for more because of their “careers”! Oh, poor rich baby who sacrificed their morals to move up and now they complain…because it’s all the rage!

  3. Anybody who says “Nobody cares what celebrities think” is showing themselves to be an utter moron. You really do need to be dumber than a bag of hammers to phrase the title that way. What this supercilious twat means to say is “I personally am not swayed by what celebrities say about issues, and that’s the right approach to celebrity opinions“.
I am totally on board with the idea that celebrity itself does not give anyone insight into anything (except perhaps what it is like to be famous) – so nobody should care what a celebrity thinks about social issues about which they have no expertise, particularly if they are issues for which specialist training is required.
That is an entirely different proposition to “nobody does care what celebrities think”.
The bottom 90% of the IQ distribution cares, and cares deeply, what their favourite celebrities think: they will invest significant mental energy in adoptiong positions on issues that align with the celebrities they admire, for no reason other than the fame of the celebrities.
So celebrities joining a ’cause’ is not a ‘zero-impact’ event: it can generate massive momentum as their ‘fans’ pile into the issue.
Another thing to bear in mind is the generally low level of cognitive ‘grunt’ among Western adults. The bottom 95% is incapable of reaching a genuine ‘analytical’ decision on any issue starting from first principles and doing their own research. That’s not my opinion: it’s the major conclusion of the largest study of adult cognition ever undertaken (the OECD’s PIAAC study).
The vast majority of adults are playing with a cognitive deck that renders them incapable of syncretic analysis: that’s just the way it is, and so they have to ‘import’ a bunch of their important values from somewhere. Frankly, I would rather they imported them from a totally shallow dyed-blonde fake-titted high heeled starlet, than from nightly newsreaders, politicians or leaders of organised religion.
In an ideal world, everyone would get their opinions from 4chan /b/: the world would be a far better place.

  4. Actors are FAKE people.
Actors train and practice manipulating other people. Actors are professional Judas Goats whose economic survival is based on their ability to make you believe lies. For entertainment and fictional story telling that is fine, but not for your Real Life decisions.
Actors train and practice crying, and every other human emotion to deliberately decieve and trick you, their audiance.
Actor’s centuries long reputations as promiscuous libertines is documented and atested to by tabloids and the media every day.
Why would anyone except those with low self-esteem follow the life advice of professional frauds?
We have the staged spectacle of all these “feminists” who yesterday were barely covered in translucent if not transparent scraps of cloth now parading their virginity and shocked outrage that any man DARED look.
Prior to Amricans living vicariously through National Enquirer and other rags …. actors were known as the scum they are.
