Elon Musk put roughly $290 million into the 2024 cycle and has already topped $400 million so far in the 2025-26 midterms, for a two-year total over $700 million. George Soros’s tracked federal political giving over more than three decades sits in the hundreds of millions. One recent tally put his lifetime federal total around $536 million before this cycle. Soros and his linked groups have given another $102 million this cycle. Musk’s pace in two years has already passed those longer-term figures for direct election spending. Exact lifetime numbers for Soros are fuzzy because of his foundations, but the recent comparison holds.
