By the way kids, the Fed is not a “private” bank. Not sure where that disinfo originated, but it’s based on the idea that there is a separation of powers, just like there is a separation of powers between the executive and judicial branches of the US government.
The US treasury still physically prints the money that the Fed orders and the Fed delivers its profits to the Treasury.
Central banks are mostly government entities these days.
