Facebook censors AP and Guardian stories on its own Data breach

Abusing auto censorship tools to stifle criticism of one’s platform is an insidious maneuver, meant only to protect FB from criticism. The congress would be well served to begin investigations into companies like FB who engage in that kind of censorship of the public sphere.

The breach was discovered by Facebook engineers on Tuesday 25 September, the company said, and patched on Thursday. Users whose accounts were affected will be notified by Facebook. Those users will be logged out of their accounts and required to log back in.
