The first coronavirus case in Australia with no links to China has been confirmed, with as many as 40 people now at risk of exposure to the virus after the infected woman worked at a Gold Coast shopping centre.
The 63-year-old woman is currently in isolation at the Gold Coast University Hospital.
The woman had recently returned from Iran.
She worked as a beautician on the Gold Coast (arrived in Australia from Iran on Monday).
The beautician began to feel unwell at work and spoke to her manager before leaving to seek medical help.
The woman works at Hair Plus salon in Australia Fair shopping centre, (one of the largest shopping complexes on The Goldcoast) where she does facial treatments .
The woman saw around 30, maybe 40 clients since she returned back into Australia.
