Finland is ready to join NATO without Sweden, writes the Finnish newspaper Iltalehti.
The newspaper refers to sources within Finnish foreign and security policy.
– We are a border neighbor with Russia. Sweden’s geopolitical situation is completely different from ours, says a source.
– Turkey has no problem with Finnish NATO membership.
According to the sources, Finland’s party leader and President Sauli Niinistö have discussed the topic over the past week.
