First Session Of The 116th Congress Just Held On January 3, 2019 – Group Of Republicans Side With Dems.

by Ruby Henley

I am concerned about Republicans deserting President Trump to side with the Democrats.  At the present time, it is about the government shutdown. President Trump says until he gets the money for the border wall, the government will continue with the shutdown.  We must remember that was one of his campaign promises, and he has tried to keep those to the American people.

He just finished a speech in which he stated most of the American people want the wall, and I know he is right.  I do! We have a responsibility to keep our Country sovereign, but the Dems are moving to give it to the illegal aliens.  I am concerned they are going to succeed.

The first session of the 116th Congress was just held in Washington on January 3, 2019.  How did it go?

What occurred that you might be concerned about, as the Dems sink their newly sprouted claws into President Trump and the American people?  They are riding high now, and Pelosi is the golden girl who has taken Hillary’s place.

When I listen to her talk, she never makes sense.  She stumbles through her newly declared power, but she does not have to be the smartest Dem on the block.  Who she has behind her – like Adam Schiff and Robert Mueller are the ones who will run this Country with her as Speaker of the House.

The Dems are already taking measures to protect the Mueller probe, but we do have a win on our side.  A Judge ruled that Dr. Jerome Corsi’s lawsuit will go forward, even as Mueller is demanding it be halted.  We all should be praying for Dr. Corsi and his attorney, Larry Klayman.

What happened at the first session of the 116th Congress?  We saw a handful of powerful Republicans cross over to the Dem side of the fence betraying President Trump and the promise of the border wall.

The Republican members of the House of Representatives joined Democrats to pass legislation to fund the government on Thursday night, which, if passed by the Senate and signed by President Donald Trump, would end the partial government shutdown.

Am I for the shutdown?  If I want a border wall, it looks like I must stand beside Trump and bite the bullet.  I don’t want to see services to the American people disappear, but Trump has tried every way possible to reason with the Dems over the wall.  It is not going to happen.

House Joint Resolution 1 and House Resolution 21, which DO NOT include funding for the wall along the US-Mexico border, were passed. However, there were a handful of Republicans who broke with Trump and voted with the Democrats to reopen the government. Trump said prior to the shutdown and the holiday recess that he would not sign a bill to fund the government if it didn’t contain $5 billion in funding for a border wall.

Who were the Republicans who broke from Trump and the wall?

  1. Rep. Will Hurd, who represents the 23rd District in Texas, voted for both H.J. Res. 1 and H.R. 21.
  2. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania’s 1st District voted for both H.J. Res. 1 and H.R. 21.
  3. Rep. John Katko from New York’s 24th District voted in favor of both H.J. Res. 1 and H.R. 21.
  4. Rep. Chris Smith of New Jersey voted for H.J. Res. 1 but not H.R. 21.
  5. Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York’s 21st District voted for both H.J. Res. 1 and H.R. 21.
  6. Rep. Fred Upton of Michigan’s 6th District voted “no” on H.J. Res. 1 but “yes” on H.R. 21.
  7. Rep. Greg Walden of Oregon’s 2nd District voted “no” on H.J. Res. 1 but “yes” on H.R. 21.
  8. Rep. Peter King of New York’s 2nd District voted for H.R. 21 but against H.J. Res. 1.

I have always supported King.  He is against the shutdown but for the wall, according to News12 Long Island. He made the following statement –

“You give the president close to $5 billion for the wall; you give the Democrats DACA,” King said, according to News12. “You set in motion a plan where, as the border becomes more secure, the 11 million people who are here illegally now can get a status and perhaps work toward citizenship.”

Give the Democrats DACA?  I do not agree with King on that.  DACA infringes on the American people, giving illegals aliens rights that even American citizens do not have.  If the Dems are given DACA, the wall still will not be built. Now that the Dems have more control, we are looking at the source of our downfall.  Plus, if Republicans start to walk out on Trump – period – it will bring about the downfall of the Conservative movement.

What else occurred at the first Session of Pelosi’s reign? Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) made history Thursday afternoon for being the first Palestinian American woman sworn into Congress.

Not long after she was sworn in, she made a promise at a reception for the progressive group, MoveOn.org.  Remember them?

She declared that the new Democrat controlled House would be ousting President Trump from office.

She made the following statement – “Don’t you ever, ever, let anybody take away your roots, your culture, who you are. Ever,”

“Because when you [hang onto those things], people love you and you win. And when your son looks at you and says, ‘Mama, look. You won. Bullies don’t win.’

“And I said, ‘Baby, they don’t,’ because we’re gonna go in there and we’re gonna impeach the motherf—er.”

Unfortunately – we just got a breath of what is to come.
