A police officer’s Tesla ran out of battery power in the middle of a high-speed chase in California last week, reports said Wednesday.
The cop from the Fremont Police Department was pursuing a suspect in a department-issued Tesla Model S car last Friday when he suddenly noticed he was running low, the Mercury News reported.
As the officer and the suspect hit speeds of 120 miles per hour, the cop radioed that he would have to drop the pursuit.
“I am down to six miles of battery on the Tesla so I may lose it here in a sec,” the cop said on the radio, according to the report.
“If someone else is able, can they maneuver into the number one spot?”
