At least 15 climate activists with the environmental group Extinction Rebellion Boston were arrested while staging traffic blockades in the city during the morning commute.
Traffic was diverted from the Seaport Boulevard Bridge as a result of the protests, and tied the commute in knots around the city.
“Please be advised that due to a protest, traffic is being diverted at Seaport Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue with protesters blocking one side of the bridge,” Boston police reported in a tweet at 8:28 a.m.
By 10 a.m. Boston police said the detour at Seaport Boulevard and Atlantic had been cleared.
