Hospital in Peru reports 60,000 cases associated with thrombosis in the last six months

Around 60,000 cases associated with thrombosis have been reported by the Edgardo Rebagliati Martins Hospital in the last 6 months, so the population is recommended to be attentive to the symptoms of this disease in order to prevent advanced diagnoses.

Within the framework of World Thrombosis Day, celebrated on Wednesday, October 13 , Dr. Fernando Cauvi, head of the Thrombosis Unit of the EsSalud Rebagliati Benefit Network, pointed out that this disease is caused by the formation of a blood clot. in a vein or artery, which blocks blood flow. 
In addition, he said that this condition is responsible for the three leading causes of cardiovascular death in the world : heart attack, stroke and pulmonary embolism.
