Houthi attacks cancel 86% of Riyadh flights as Saudi Arabia’s oil infrastructure comes under threat

Today, Reuters reported that 4,071 of 4,736 scheduled flights at Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport were canceled between October 8 and 25, an 86% cancellation rate. The disruption follows a deadly attack on the airport earlier this month, repeated missile and drone threats, and fresh Houthi claims today that they attacked Saudi oil pumping stations and the airport. Saudi Arabia has not confirmed those latest claimed strikes. The campaign is now disrupting civilian aviation while threatening infrastructure used to move Saudi oil around the Strait of Hormuz.
