So basically the Canadian government is calling exchanges and telling them not to allow people associated with the Truckers Convoy to cash out. We already knew Coinbase and a couple other exchanges are “zogged”, but can they really force all exchanges to comply?
There is no way to stop the trade of crypto. Truckers can still receive Bitcoin and their actual wallets (seeds/keys) cannot be seized. Any BTC in a wallet that is banned by exchanges can simply be turned into Monero, where it will essentially disappear, then back into BTC in a brand new wallet unknown to anyone.
It’s extremely insane the levels the Canadian government are going with this, but even with all of their power, it is still impossible to prevent anyone from sending, receiving, or holding crypto.
This applies to Biden’s lame new “crypto confiscation team” as well.
There's ALWAYS a pinch point. Sure it doesn't work for people who are determined and willing to live on the fringe. But Govts can shut down ALL "normal business practices" quite easily. People will learn the hard way. We have to DISMANTLE the govts. t.co/bebMDCZHdA

People need to remember what happened to the Occupy movement when thinking about Canada. The government just shut the protest down after a certain point, the same way they shut down Unite the Right: by bringing in police to clear the area. The System is perfectly willing and able to do that when they feel it’s necessary, and they’ll worry about the public relations consequences afterwards.
So if I was protesting in Canada I would start to consider: what am I willing to do if they try to clear me out? And what fallback position will I take if they succeed?
This is one of the challenges of decentralized protest movements. They often can be broken down rather quickly by centralized force. Leadership and organization are important because a centralized authority can only be effectively challenged by another centralized authority.
