Merriam-Webster Admits Vaccine Definition Changed to Accommodate mRNA Injections:
WORD OF THE YEAR? VACCINE — AND ITS ALTERED DEFINITION.t.co/8zFK4R79wv

It’s not just the change in the mRNA definition.
They also need to change the definition to define a vaccine as a prophylaxis that is supposed to reduce symptoms. Previously, it was understood that a vaccine makes you immune, preventing you from getting infected with the disease and obviously from transmitting it, and the coronavirus vaccines do not do that.
The whole discussion is just dumb.
