Inflation Reality: US Govt’s CPI vs ShadowStats & Chapwood Inflation Index

The Fed wants inflation to run hot and well above its old 2% inflation target on the Consumer Price Index (CPI). In some Fed projections, the Fed is already projecting a 3.9% CPI inflation rate by Q3 2021.

However, the CPI does not reflect everyday reality for food, healthcare and other daily bills of most Americans. The inflation formulas from ShadowStats (using old government inflation formulas from 1980 and 1990 that were far more honest) and the Chapwood Inflation Index do.
