Pat Sweeny, the man who filmed Irish police raiding a church last week has now been raided at home, at three in the morning. Police detained him under the mental health act and told him his children are being taken into care.

It seems to me that they took him using the mental health act because he hadn’t broken any laws so they couldn’t just turn up and arrest him.
Then he’s released, but his kids have still been taken.
There’s an update here. He’s at the police station trying to get his kids back.
