Is the US Turning Into The Soviet Union?

by Daniel Carter
Almost thirty years ago, the Soviet Union came to a dramatic end. Decades of atrocious economic, social and foreign policy eroded the country’s standing in the world until it completely collapsed. Now, the US – once the most formidable rival of the Soviet Union – seems to be following in their footsteps. Will the US empire end in collapse as well?
This week, former presidential candidate and hero of the liberty movement, Ron Paul, said that he thinks the US is on the verge of a Soviet style collapse. In a recent interview with the Washington Examiner, Paul said:
“We’re on the verge of something like what happened in ‘89 when the Soviet system just collapsed. I’m just hoping our system comes apart as gracefully as the Soviet system.”
Ron Paul’s prediction is quite ominous, but I happen to believe that he is on to something. In 1984, Yuri Bezmenov, a former KGB propagandist, appeared on national television with a startling message. He said that ever since the Cold War between the US and Soviet Union started, the Soviet Union was actively brainwashing young American students into being sympathetic to Marxist/Communist ideas. Those young students are now professors, politicians, military personnel, entertainers and business people. They are now implementing Marxist/Communist ideals at the highest levels of the nation. It does not take more than a quick glance at mainstream thought to see the overwhelming influence of the Soviet Union’s propaganda in action. Below is the truly shocking interview. It’s well worth the 13 minutes of your time.

The same ideas that brought down the Soviet Union are now engrained in our foreign policy, economy and social life. For example, one of the most decisive blows to the Soviet Union was their recklessly expansive foreign policy. From 1979 to 1989, the Soviets tried to expand into the Middle East with the Soviet-Afghan War. This war dragged on far too long and cost far too much money. Eventually, the debts from the war caused the Soviet Union to go bankrupt. If this sounds familiar, it’s because the US is currently making the exact same mistake. The Soviet Military Industrial Complex helped ruin their nation, and now, the US Military Industrial Complex is about to ruin ours.
The US has also followed the disastrous economic policy of the Soviet Union. The US is still a market-based system, but we are moving quickly towards a top-down, centrally planned economy. One of the biggest similarities between the US and the Soviet Union is their overbearing central banking systems. The Soviets abandoned the gold standard (like the US) to inflate their monetary base. This allowed them to redistribute wealth from the producers to the government. Again, this should sound familiar. The US has destroyed the purchasing power of the US Dollar over several decades while enriching the establishment.
The Marxist/Communist influence on our social lives is becoming more evident every day. Society is being torn apart; separated into oppressed and oppressor classes. In the eyes of these demented Marxists, whites are oppressing people of color, men are oppressing women, straight people are oppressing LGBT people and so on. If these tensions keep rising, we could find ourselves in a similar situation as the Russians in the early 1900’s or the Chinese in the mid 1900’s. These two incidences led to the most murderous times in human history.
The Soviet Union’s brainwashing techniques worked. Even though the Soviet Union no longer exists, their ideas still permeate American society. The Marxist/Communist ideas have led to disaster in every society they have infiltrated. Is the US turning into the Soviet Union? Will our nation collapse as well? Only time will tell, but we should not take these developments lightly.
