Italy’s Mount Etna volcano erupts, forcing airport closure in Sicily

The airport of Comiso, in the southern Ragusa province, also remained closed due to falling volcanic ash, according to the authorities. As Sicily is a major Summer destination, hundreds of passengers remain stranded on the island.
