The Anti-Defamation League was founded with the purpose of combating antisemitism and supporting the state of Israel, so it would make sense that the ADL would actively oppose the neo-Nazi groups like the Azov Battalion that proliferate in Ukraine. Yet that’s not the case, as ADL chairman David Fishman recently explained in an interview when he pointed out that the Azov Battalion hasn’t appeared to target Jews, so maybe they were not such a terrible brand of Nazis after all.
