Journalist who was investigating the government killed in her home in Kansas City

Aviva Okeson-Haberman, a reporter working for an affiliate of the National Public Radio (NPR), was killed in her home by a bullet that came in from a window. It is unclear if it was a stray bullet or if she was targeted.

From her own words, “I’ll ask the hard questions, dig into the data and spend time building trust with sources. It’s what’s required to provide an unflinching look at how state government affects those entrusted to its care.”
