JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon said Monday that the United States economy is doing well but warned it will still have to fend off “inflationary events,” like the increasing government deficits for global powers.
Dimon appeared optimistic about the American economy in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, highlighting that the unemployment rate in the country is “really low,” and corporate profits are “way up.” The unemployment rate was 4.2 percent last month.
“The American economy is kind of booming right now,” Dimon told WSJ host Alan Murray. “It’s good times.”
The CEO also admitted that hourly wages are probably not going up enough for lower-income earners, but said the important thing is that they have jobs. The real average hourly earnings were down 0.7 percent from September 2025, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
