Mike Johnson says he will stay as GOP leader even if Republicans lose the House. Prediction markets give Democrats ~90 percent.

Johnson told CBS News Monday that in the “unlikely scenario” the party loses the majority he expects colleagues would ask him to continue leading the conference, even in divided government. He said he does not spend time thinking about it and remains confident of holding the chamber. He has been campaigning across roughly 40 districts in 22 states. Some GOP lawmakers and aides have told The Hill there could be a push for a different leader if losses are large. Kalshi and Polymarket both price Democratic House control at about 90 percent as of 11–12 October. Senate odds more mixed, around 60 percent Democratic.
