People talk about fake news, but this type of viewer manipulation with faked remote shots happens far more often than people think.
Green screen technology has advanced to the point where the visible glow outline is gone. Large networks like MSNBC, CNN, and Fox sometimes find it easier to use a live exterior camera feed while keeping their on-air ‘talent’ in studio in a light controlled environment.
Differences in lighting and quality of footage make the faked shot easier to spot.
