He owns a popular restaurant. He used to pay minimum wage and the staff made their money in tips. So, to get his employees to come back to work (and get off unemployment), he agreed with their unofficial union to pay $17.50/hour. They ALL came back to work. Then he put a sign in the front window that said he proudly pays all of his front of the house workers $17.50/hour and back of the house employees $15.00/hour.
Tips for wait staff fell by 70%. His people are now angry that he told the public what he’s paying them.
He is close to putting his business up for sale at this point and retiring.
