New York State Sounds Alarm after Massive Population Loss

Governor Kathy Hochul is sounding the alarm bell on a massive population loss in New York State of more than 300,000 in 2020.

In fact, 1.4 million people have left the state since 2010.

The state’s population decreased by 319,020 people over a 12-month period coinciding with the COVID-19 pandemic. New York in the last year also recorded a net loss of 352,185 of its population due to domestic migration, the Census reported.
