At a press conference on Thursday, Mayor Eric Adams said that in order to house illegal immigrants: ‘If we have to get hotel rooms, we get hotel rooms’
The mayor said his administration has reached out to the White House in order to secure federal money to help the city to deal with an influx of migrants
Between May and July, New York City saw 3,000 illegal immigrants arrive from mainly Latin America
Adams has also accused the Republican governors of Texas and Arizona of shipping their migrants to New York
