Over 57,000 Ransomware Cyberattacks By Hackers Using NSA Exploit Reported In 74 Countries, Virus Still Spreading Aggressively

Info About WanaCrypt0r 2.0 & Leaked NSA Exploit:

Edward Snowden:

“Whoa: @NSAGov decision to build attack tools targeting US software now threatens the lives of hospital patients. Despite warnings, @NSAGov built dangerous attack tools that could target Western software. Today we see the cost. In light of today’s attack, Congress needs to be asking @NSAgov if it knows of any other vulnerabilities in software used in our hospitals. If @NSAGov had privately disclosed the flaw used to attack hospitals when they *found* it, not when they lost it, this may not have happened”

“A ransomware virus is reported to be spreading aggressively around the globe, with over 50,000 computers having been targeted. The virus infects computer files and then demands money to unblock them.
An increase in activity of the malware was noticed starting from 8am CET (07:00 GMT) Friday, security software company Avast reported, adding that it “quickly escalated into a massive spreading.”
In a matter of hours, over 57,000 attacks have been detected worldwide, the company said.
Seventy-four countries around the globe have been affected, with the number of victims still growing, according to the Russian multinational cybersecurity and anti-virus provider, the Kaspersky Lab.”
Hospital Computers Across Britain Shut Down By Cyberattack, Hackers Demanding Ransom:
“Hospitals across England have reportedly been hit by a large-scale cyberattack. Some are having to divert emergency patients, with doctors reporting messages demanding money.
The Guardian says National Health Service (NHS) hospitals across the country appear to have been simultaneously hit by a bug in their IT systems. Doctors have been posting on Twitter about what has been happening.
A screengrab of an instant message conversation circulated by one doctor says: “So our hospital is down … We got a message saying your computers are now under their control and pay a certain amount of money. And now everything is gone.”
A second doctor tweeted: “Massive NHS hack cyber attack today. Hospital in shut down. Thanks for delaying emergency patient care & endangering lives. Assholes.”
An NHS source told the Evening Standard the attack “seems to be growing” with more incidents of hospitals across Britain facing IT problems being reported. No hospitals in London are yet confirmed to have been targeted in the attack.
According to reports, affected hospitals include those run by East and North Hertfordshire NHS trust, Barts Health in London, Essex Partnership university NHS trusts, the university hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS foundation trust, Southport and Ormskirk hospital NHS trust and Blackpool teaching hospital NHS foundation trust.
On Friday, Spain’s government warned that large numbers of companies had been attacked by cyber criminals who infected computers with the same ransomware used on the NHS.”
Actual screenshot of the ransomware apparently:

A MASSIVE cyber attack has plunged the NHS into chaos as computers across the country shut down forcing patients to be turned away from A&E.
The large-scale attack has caused “significant problems” with IT systems and telephone networks, with 16 hospital trusts affected.

  1. Hayden called for a cyber attack on Russia a day before this happens. It started in Russia, and like Stuxnet and Iran, has gone out of control “infecting” passed it’s target.
If anyone thinks a non-state actor has the ability to do this, drink the coolaid.
If anyone thinks a non-state actor has designs of getting rich: you can’t spend even bitcoin if you’re dead, pissing off most of the world’s intelligence agencies and militaries who’s job it is to stop this from ever happening.
PS. It also shows all the IT professions you are paying in corps and government to stop these kinds of attacks area a waste of money. FIRE THEM ALL. You can’t protect something from hacking, that has been designed to be hackable from Zero Day.
