Patreon Purge: Sargon of Akkad Gets His Account Banned.

Patreon Bans Sargon of Akkad. This is part of the same ongoing coordinated harassment campaign being waged by the ideological left wing fringe.

While many will make excuses for Patreon by stating that it’s their right to deplatform (censor) anyone they wish who uses their service, making these excuses now sets us on a slippery slope towards corporate fascism.

Patreon seems to be having an identity crisis in this respect, as the CEO explicitly stated that there is behavior that is allowed on the platform itself, and there is behavior that is separate from Patreon, and that the two shouldn’t be conflated.

The Patreon trust and safety team, however, appears to disagree, as Sargon (aka Carl Benjamin) was recently removed from their service for using the “n-word” on another youtuber’s stream (10 months ago).

Regardless of your opinion over the severity of his using this slur, Patreon is playing a very dangerous game by establishing this precedent, and it should be concerning to all truth seekers and those who support independent content creators.

Patreon Purge: Sargon of Akkad Gets His Account Banned. “Hi @Patreon – by banning Sargon of Akkad you are actually silencing a classical liberal who has debated & opposed the far-right innumerable times.”
