Power cuts during heatwave bring Beirut to a boiling point

In the midst of a sweltering heatwave in the city of Beirut, protesters have been driven to attempt breaking into the Ministry of Energy offices in a desperate gambit to have mandatory electricity cuts lifted. The electricity cuts, which are said to sometimes last for up to 12 hours a day in some areas, have aggravated citizens suffering through sweltering temperatures without air conditioning or fans.
